I was fascinated by the art form Trompe l'oeil (trick the eye) commonly used in architecture to simply trick the eye i.e. to make rooms or spaces appear larger. The idea of this piece was to work with functional objects often associated with ceramics to create an illusion putting the function out of the running. The function of the ordinary dinner plate becomes either a breaking point or joins the bigger perspective. I chose to work with the room as a whole creating an illusion of perspective and breaking points. A visual game challenging the eye on estimating edges and finishing.
